What is the ICOS Champions League?

The International Cardio Oncology Society (ICOS) Champions League is an international competition to test your knowledge of cardio-oncology and clinical cases. Participants should be healthcare providers involved in the clinical care of patients with cancer.

The competition is based cardio-oncology questions derived from clinical cases. The first three rounds of competition take place through an online portal and are composed of a series of timed multiple choice questions scored on correct answers and the length of time to submit answers. The final round is a live Jeopardy-style game hosted at the 2024 Global Cardio Oncology Summit (GCOS) in Minneapolis on September 24, 2024.

A three-member team may register until April 30, 2024. There is no fee to register your team. To participate, create a team and sign up.

    • The team will consist of three participants that includes at least one oncologist or hematologist and one cardiologist.

    • Each team must have at least one ICOS member.

    • The team captain must be under the age of 40.

    • More than one team per institution is allowed.

    • Once a team is named and begins the game, members cannot change to a different team.

    • There is no fee to register your team.

    • To participate, create a team meeting the above requirements and sign up for the league.

  • All participants will be granted a 25% discount to register for GCOS 2024.

    Members of the three semi-finalist teams will receive waived registration costs (but are responsible for their own travel and accommodations).

    Champions of League will be recognized at the awards ceremony at GCOS 2024.

    Regular Phase (qualifying rounds) - May 2024

    Quarter finals (up to 16 teams) - June 2024

    Semi Finals (6 teams) - July 2024

    The Final Match (3 teams) - September 24, 2024 in Minneapolis, MN at GCOS

  • The competition is based cardio-oncology questions derived from clinical cases.

    The first three rounds of competition take place through an online portal and are composed of a series of multiple choice questions scored on correct answers and the length of time to submit answers. Teams will be given a window of time to complete the multiple choice questions online.

    The semi final teams will be announced summer 2024 at the ICOS weekly webinar. The specific date will be announced.

    The final round is a live Jeopardy-style game hosted at the 2024 GCOS in Minneapolis on September 24, 2024.
